The Oaks

Located in Liss, Hampshire, The Oaks provides a two-storey, sheltered accommodation for up to nine residents with the services of a house manager.

The Oaks provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where residents can remain as independent as possible. It’s a home from home environment with support when you need it from our professional and caring staff and volunteers.

Comfort

Home-from-Home Comfort

The nine bed-sitting style rooms benefit from good, natural light, are pleasantly decorated, and fully carpeted. All rooms have their own shower rooms, eight of which are en suite.

Views vary from room to room although all offer a good degree of privacy. We encourage residents to personalise their living space with furniture items, ornaments and pictures. There are laundry facilities available for residents on the ground floor.

For security and safety, all rooms have an emergency call system with a personal alarm pendant connecting the occupant to an external monitoring unit.

Our ‘silver surfing’ residents can take advantage of Wi-Fi and the large, homely lounge/dining room encourages residents to meet together for coffee and occasional games evenings also pre-lunch aperitif on Saturdays. There is also a large well-kept garden for residents use.

The house manager has been at The Oaks for a number of years and has experience and real empathy with older people. She is able to offer discrete support to each resident, a friendly face to chat to and professional advice when required. She and her team offer a real family atmosphere.

Complementing our professional team are our volunteers who assist at the home. They provide everything from a companionable chat over coffee through to days trips out. Morning coffee is a popular daily gathering with residents often joined by visitors and volunteers.

Cuisine

High-quality Cuisine

At The Oaks we’re fussy about the food we serve and believe that every meal should be an occasion. We understand how important good quality, nutritious food is in supporting the health and well-being of older people.

Our house manager serves two main meals a day from a varied and balanced daily menu and supplies residents with the basic ingredients enabling them to prepare their own breakfasts in their own rooms.

The two main meals are cooked in our own well-equipped, clean kitchen and to ensure freshness, we source locally produced fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. Drinks and snacks are also served throughout the day and we happily cater for special diets and food preferences.

Birthdays are made a special occasion and visitors are welcome to join residents for an occasional meal.
