The nine bed-sitting style rooms benefit from good, natural light, are pleasantly decorated, and fully carpeted. All rooms have their own shower rooms, eight of which are en suite.
Views vary from room to room although all offer a good degree of privacy. We encourage residents to personalise their living space with furniture items, ornaments and pictures. There are laundry facilities available for residents on the ground floor.
For security and safety, all rooms have an emergency call system with a personal alarm pendant connecting the occupant to an external monitoring unit.
Our ‘silver surfing’ residents can take advantage of Wi-Fi and the large, homely lounge/dining room encourages residents to meet together for coffee and occasional games evenings also pre-lunch aperitif on Saturdays. There is also a large well-kept garden for residents use.
The house manager has been at The Oaks for a number of years and has experience and real empathy with older people. She is able to offer discrete support to each resident, a friendly face to chat to and professional advice when required. She and her team offer a real family atmosphere.
Complementing our professional team are our volunteers who assist at the home. They provide everything from a companionable chat over coffee through to days trips out. Morning coffee is a popular daily gathering with residents often joined by visitors and volunteers.
