Welcome to Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society

High quality home care, sheltered housing, residential and nursing care

We believe that it’s our job to give the appropriate levels of care and support, so our older people can live their chosen lifestyle. Everyone is committed to preserving the privacy, dignity and independence of  residents. We love getting to know them as individuals – and put their needs and choices at the heart of their  care plans.

The Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society is a registered charity, led by a board of volunteer retired professionals and a small senior management team. That’s why we can confidently say that we put care before profit – there’s no pressure from shareholders. We offer our services at cost price, with a small surplus reinvested into residents’ services.

What type of care do I need?

Don’t worry, it’s the most common question we get asked.

Understanding the right level of care can be confusing when exploring options for yourself or a loved one. Care needs often change over time, and what’s appropriate today may evolve as circumstances shift.

At Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society, we offer a spectrum of support – from independent living with minimal assistance, to comprehensive care for those requiring regular help with daily activities. Our personalised assessment process helps identify the perfect balance between independence and support.

We’re here to guide you through this important decision, ensuring the care package matches exactly what your loved one needs, both now and as their journey continues.

Become part of our family

Each of our homes is one big family, made up of residents, staff, volunteers, and you. Everyone who lives here adds something special to our close-knit community. We look out for each other, share laughs, and create bonds that feel like we’ve known each other forever.

When someone new moves in, we welcome them and their families with open arms and big smiles. Our staff and residents go out of their way to make newcomers feel right at home from day one. Moving in isn’t just a change of address –  it’s joining a ready-made family where everyone belongs and everyone’s story matters.

Our care teams

Nothing is too much trouble

All our carers work to preserve the privacy, dignity, and individuality of all residents at all times. And they do a brilliant job!

We invest in on-going training for our care teams so they continue to grow their skillset to meet the personal, medical and social needs of all our residents. This includes a broad range of holistic courses to cover everyone’s needs.

Our philosophy

Putting care before profit

Our Society  believes in everyone living their best life. Before moving-in day, we sit down with new residents to create a personalised Care Plan covering everything from medical needs, to food preferences. From experience, we know that honesty and trust from everyone leads to less emotional and physical stress. We encourage residents and their families to help shape this plan – it makes settling in much smoother for everyone.

Banish loneliness. Our homes buzz with activities like games, quizzes, exercises and trips to local places of interest (when the weather’s warmer!) We celebrate birthdays with special teas and decorations, and our caring well-being team are always around for a chat.

From day one, we want to make everyone feel at home – safe in the knowledge that residents’ wellbeing, comfort, privacy and dignity come first.

Our communities

It’s the people that make our homes

Our homes come alive through the dedication of our staff and volunteers. Each person brings unique talents and warm smiles, creating an atmosphere where your loved ones form genuine connections.

What makes us special is our shared commitment to exceptional care. From experienced carers to enthusiastic volunteers, everyone works together with one purpose – ensuring your family member’s days are filled with dignity, joy and meaningful moments. It’s this human touch that transforms our buildings into true homes.
