David Gresham House has 29 single rooms for residential care – all with their own wetroom and personal shower. There are two light-filled lounges, an excellent library, a spacious dining room and a lovely conservatory where residents enjoy socialising and entertaining…well, whenever they feel like it!
There are also 5 independent living flats – 4 designed for couples and 1 single. The layouts include exactly what you’d expect: bedroom, sitting room, kitchenette and toilet/shower room. These flats are ideal for more active older people, who need less support with everyday essentials, but do want extra security and companionship. The flats have a separate entrance to the residential care home, a communal lounge, dedicated laundry facility and lift.
At David Gresham House in Oxted, we’re proud of our charitable status that allows us to prioritise exceptional care over financial gain. Our dedicated team members build meaningful relationships with each resident, ensuring personalised support that honours individual dignity and preferences.
The result? A thriving community filled with friendship and joy. Walk through our doors and you’ll immediately sense the difference – shared meals, spontaneous laughter, and the comfortable familiarity that transforms our care home into a true family environment where everyone feels like they belong.

29 en-suite rooms
The bedrooms in our home are wonderfully bright, tastefully decorated, and partially furnished. Each room offers its own unique view, while still maintaining that essential sense of privacy we all value. All rooms have an ensuite toilet.
We’re keen for residents to truly make themselves at home by surrounding themselves with their favourite furniture pieces and important things. For your complete peace of mind, every room is fitted with a call bell system and has a lockable bedside cabinet. For more technology minded residents, our ‘silver surfers’ have access to Wi-Fi throughout the home.
Our fantastic chefs really pull out all the stops to create a tempting array of home-cooked dishes using fresh ingredients every day. Has your loved one got specific dietary needs or particular tastes? No problem at all – our kitchen team takes it all in their stride to ensure everyone’s preferences are catered for.
You’ll be pleased to know we make quite the fuss about mealtimes here, turning each one into a proper social occasion. Now and again, residents also tuck into themed lunches celebrating global cuisines, national events, and classic British traditions – we get great feedback about these special meals from residents and their families!
And for the between-meals nibbles, there’s fruit, snacks and drinks available throughout the day.
David Gresham House is on the outskirts of Oxted, at the foot of the North Downs. Right on the doorstep, there’s shops, restaurants, places of worship and the famous Barn Theatre.
We’re easily accessible by car, and the local train station is well-connected to both the surrounding area and London mainline stations. There’s also a good network of local buses.
David Gresham House has its own salon, so chiropody and hairdressing appointments can happen onsite, for a small extra fee.
We’re linked with the local GP surgery and residents are welcome to keep their family doctor, if they are able to. Medications are handled by our care teams.
Registered Manager David Gresham House
Emese’s early working career developed from studying sports & exercise therapy, delivering tailor made exercise / rehabilitation programs to her clients of all ages.
Her first interaction with the care industry came from coaching mobility sessions to elderly residents at a local nursing home. Emese later became the activities coordinator for the home, a position which she held for 7 years, during which time she gained invaluable knowledge and experience about caring for the elderly in a care home environment.
In 2018, Emese re-located to a small, dementia specialist care home and within 9 months, she completed the Level 5 Leadership & Management Diploma in Adult Health and Social Care and became the CQC Registered Care Home Manager for Wolfe House Care Home in Oxted, Surrey.
After completing a Level six Leadership & Management module with the University of Surrey, Emese joined the Society in 2024 as the Registered Manager at David Gresham House, and now heads the team at our lovely residential care home in Oxted.
Emese still has an active interest in both Health & Fitness and expanding her knowledge. In her spare time, she is pursuing teaching, and assessing Yoga and Pilates diploma courses. She actually manages to find some time to still deliver some private exercise classes herself.
Emese also has two dogs that require a lot of exercise; therefore, walking has become a large part of her life outside work, and she challenges herself every year with a 50K race, raising funds for charities close to her heart.
Emese’s experience and leadership skills combined with her energy and passion for learning and developing, help ensure the David Gresham community enjoy a vibrant and forward thinking environment to live and work in.
I had a short stay following surgery. All the staff were very caring and helpful. My requests were listened to and acted upon speedily. This was my second respite visit and I thoroughly recommend David Gresham House for this purpose.
If you allowed 110% this would show how good Gresham is. I could not praise it enough. Everyone was so kind. Thank you.
My mother moved in six months ago having been struggling at home. She has settled in well, the staff are all friendly and helpful and she particularly loves the food. She now has the choice of her own company in her room, or joining others for meals and activities. She also enjoys the garden now the summer is here.
