When you move into a residential or nursing home, you’ll still be able to receive Attendance Allowance, and the good news is, it isn’t based on your financial situation.

The allowance is paid at two different rates, depending on how much care you require.

Even if you're not currently claiming the allowance but need some extra support, you might be able to get around £73.90 or £110.40 each week to help with your personal care needs.

Some Kind Words

Quote
  • This is a care home with lovely, helpful and caring staff. We knew this was the right place the moment we walked through the door.

  • Nower Care Home in Dorking is an extremely well-run establishment. The staff are very kind to the residents and nothing is too much trouble. The premises are kept spotlessly clean and visiting relatives are always made welcome.

    Graham G (Son of Resident)
  • I had a respite stay after being in the hospital. I was welcomed and made to feel safe. The staff were all brilliant. The food was all freshly made so there was a lot of choices and it tasted wonderful.
