Frequently Asked Questions

Are your Carers CRB / DBS checked?

Yes all of our care staff undergo an enhanced DBS check.

What training do your Carers receive?

All care staff upon completion of a DBS check and the receipt of two references are enrolled on training. Training is both face to face and online. There are in excess of 30 training modules which are completed (this may seem a lot but it gives carers a significant amount of knowledge across a variety of needs), before carers go out into the community where they will shadow an experienced carer for as long as they require and will not be on their own until they are confident and have been competency checked.

Is there a minimum number of hours/calls I have to sign up to?

No there is no minimum requirement, we understand that some people may only require a carer to assist with a shower for example, this could be once or twice a week.

What is the duration of calls available to me?

We offer visits lasting anything between thirty minutes and four hours. This can be for assistance with a shower or help with personal care, meal preparation or assisting with medication, valuable companionship or accompanying you to appointments. The amount of time you will need is ascertained at the initial assessment and is based upon your needs and your choices.

Are there any hidden costs?

No there are no extra charges for travel or assessments.

What if I have an admission to hospital or want to go on holiday?

If you are admitted to hospital or wish to go away on holiday we will hold your allotted time for a maximum of two weeks without charge. If you are away for more than two weeks and still wish to use the service on your return, your visit slot can be retained at the normal chargeable rate.

All calls are able to be cancelled without charge if 48 hours’ notice is given.

How many different carers will I see?

This depends on how many visits a week you require.

Carers will be matched with service users and if there are any issues we will always introduce another carer.

Need guidance?

We can talk you through your care choices.
