Ross Kirkpatrick runs London Marathon April 2018
Congratulations to Ross Kirkpatrick who finished his first London Marathon in 5:09:39 raising over £1300 for the wheelchair accessible car appeal.
A Message from Ross
I just want to thank all the residents, staff, family and friends for sponsoring and supporting me in what I can easily say was the hardest challenge I’ve ever had to overcome. The London Marathon 2018 was the hottest on record. I had trained all winter mainly in below freezing conditions and even in heavy snow. My body was not prepared for the severe climate change. I struggled physically from 15 miles and hit “the wall” at 19 miles. The amazing crowd carried me those closing miles and it was great to see Tracey Pollard, Val and David King along the route and Tammie Baker at mile 25! I said after that I would never do this again but I now feel a great sense of achievement and always like to challenge myself mentally and physically so never say never! Ross x
