Raffle prizes for Community Defibrillator

A Raffle Prize to Save a Life!

We are fundraising for a Community Defibrillator to be positioned outside our care home Ridgway Court 48 Ridgway Road Farnham Surrey GU9 8NW and are looking for prizes for our Raffle.

The Defibrillator will have 24/7 access for the local community and will be linked with the Ambulance service.  If someone phones 999 they will be told where to locate their nearest Community Defibrillator.  Prompt access to a defibrillator can take the chance of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest from 1{5abc2020aa0b471c1f28aecf7bd51268932767496aa851601b452f051c521420} to 60{5abc2020aa0b471c1f28aecf7bd51268932767496aa851601b452f051c521420}

We are working with the Aston Defibrillator fund who are focussed to make Farnham a safer place to live

Please don’t be a Bystander

The ADF is a community fund focussed on working with the entire community to provide and maintain life saving defibrillators in and around Farnham. Prompt access to a defibrillator can take the chance of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest from 1{5abc2020aa0b471c1f28aecf7bd51268932767496aa851601b452f051c521420} to 60{5abc2020aa0b471c1f28aecf7bd51268932767496aa851601b452f051c521420}. There are now more than 30 spread across the town, however, not all of these devices are available 24/7, not all are well maintained, there are still pockets of Farnham without a PAD close at hand, and very few people know where they are or how to access them.

One of our staff members has a personal reason to support this fund and she is one of the people leading us to achieve our goal.

‘My husband (aged 36) has recently been diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome, which can lead to sudden dizziness and result in collapse if he were to develop arrhythmia (the heart beating dangerously fast). Having a community defibrillator would mean that help can be arranged and it would shock his heart out of the dangerous rhythm. The majority of people don’t know they have heart conditions such as Brugada Syndrome as it mainly affects men and women who regularly exercise and lead a very healthy lifestyle and shows very little symptoms.. A Community Defibrillator would mean that help can be on hand 24/7.’
